Company Description: Founded in 2010, Peers and Rivals is a privately funded internet-based social community that enables users to compare their salaries to similarly employed individuals.
Responsible for the development of the Peers and Rivals software from its conceptual inception to product launch, including the design, implementation, and management of the underlying technology components.
Achievements and Responsibilities include:
- Interviewed and assessed development firms for the production of the Peers and Rivals application
- Successfully leveraged Agile/SCRUM methodologies to manage the product development and deliver the first major release
- Constructed and maintained user stories, project Gantt chart, and project backlog to manage feature creep, bugs, and issues throughout the development phase
- Directed bi-weekly meetings with software developers and bi-weekly meetings with Peers and Rivals personnel to ascertain project issues, and to propose alternative engineering solutions to unforeseen challenges
- Orchestrated regular code audits to assess development progress, code readability, and to identify security vulnerabilities
- Leveraged Pivotal Tracker to conduct quality assurance (QA), prioritize bug fixes, and personally report over 100 software and design flaws
- Designed, built, and deployed redundant and scalable server architecture capable of handling up to 10,000 concurrent connections
- Authored, tested, and implemented disaster recovery plans and correlating recovery documentation
- Collaborated with designers to define the Peers and Rivals application UX (User Experience), site design, and logo
